SITD (Society for Information Technology Development) has always responded quickly to any changes in the economic, social and physical environment. SITD has always been in the forefront to usher in a social renaissance by actively pursuing events that bring welfare and harmony to the society we live in, as we consider it as our moral obligation. We endeavour to accomplish our mission to actively contribute to society by co-coordinating various social service programmes with the help of our students. These activities are held across the length and breadth of India.
Our programmes include:
-
Undertaking cleanliness drives in cities and villages
-
Conducting AIDS awareness programmes
-
Organising blood donation camps
-
Helping the disabled and old aged
-
Providing relief to people affected by natural calamities
-
Scholarships for underprivileged students
-
Environment protection programmes
On 2nd October 2006, we conducted the cleanliness drive in bus stations across 27 districts in Karnataka. We have also actively participated in a social campaign on October 4th, to combat the chikungunya disease in Kerala. On the eve of the Guru Nanak Jayanthi on November 5th, we conducted a blood donation camp at Chandigarh.
Recently on the 60th Independence Day of our country, we conducted a cleanliness drive at Paris Road, Chennai which proved to be a great success.
These enterprising programmes exemplify our aspiration to provide the platform for each Indian to become a worthy citizen.
A step in the right direction is always better than not moving at all, though, there is still a long road ahead!
